Writing is somewhat similar to a conversation. In a conversation, you talk about things that you and your listener are both interested in. When you write, with or without your knowledge, you discuss something you find interesting.

Guides for Selecting Topic

1. Select a topic that is likely the interest of your target reader.
2. Select a topic that you will enjoy writing.
3. Write a topic that you know.
4. Limit your topic. Do not choose one so broad that you cannot develop it adequately in your theme.
5. Select a topic that gives you some purpose in writing about it.

Make a list of those topics that you can write something drawing from your own ideas and experiences.
